Get Connected Program

This is a free mentorship and shadowing program where all students interested in a certain career (like education, nursing, law, entrepreneurship, etc) can get connected with a young professional or senior post secondary student in that field. Whether you want to send a few questions via email, meet up to chat in person, or even shadow your mentor for a moment, this program is designed to connect you there.

Find Your Calling Conference

With so many different fields to choose from, it is unsurprisingly very challenging for our young people to know where to start. That is why we have provided our Find Your Calling Conferences in Edmonton and Winnipeg! Tailored to help our youth tackle the difficult task of determining their calling in life.

Winnipeg (Sep 22, 2018)

Tailored to ages 16-24, our goal was shifted on encouraging our over thirty attendants to reach ambitiously towards their dream. Our keynote speaker was Thoracic and Foregut Surgeon Dr. Biniam Kidane who gave an inspirational speech encouraging the youth to step out of the captivity of our own limitations and expectations, and to work hard in seizing every opportunity. Our following workshops lead by professionals or post-secondary students in Business, Nursing, Medicine, Journalism, Law, Engineering, Physiotherapy, and Education gave our attendants the opportunity to learn more about their fields of interest. We concluded the event with a motivational/informative talk on the importance of applying for scholarships by Amir Ali, including tips and tricks!

For information on our conference for January 25/2020, visit our homepage or registration page at WMP2020.eventbrite.ca

Edmonton (May 5, 2018)

Tailored towards the ages of 12-17 years old, our goal was simple, to provide a spark to help those in junior high and high school to find their calling in life. We began with inspiring speakers expanding on their own professional journeys in Banking, Accounting, Nursing, Business, Engineering, Graduate school, Youth Ministry and Medicine. Our participants then wrote a career aptitude questionnaire to help think about some of their potential callings in life, and we ended with a talk urging our participants to enjoy their pursuit!

We all need mentors. Those who have come before us, who have underwent and overcome the obstacles we too face, are incredible allies of support and affirmation. Our youth especially are in need of these positive role models.

TOF is proud to have incredible youth mentors: University/College students and young professionals, eager to mentor the world-shapers (aged 12-18 years old) of the future. The evidence is clear that youth mentorship reduces substance use, criminal rates, and other destructive activities. Furthermore, it increases academic performance, post-secondary enrollment and success, and healthy relationships.

To uplift our communities here, we run a six month longitudinal youth mentorship program called Youth Mentoring Youth.

Through the generosity and funding of the Edmonton Community Fund, we just finished our second cycle on Feb/20! For information on this project, or questions on how you might get involved for its next iteration, email tof.exec@gmail.com.
